This would be amazingly awesome! I’ve been a graphic artist for 11 years, currently going to college to learn animation. I love Pixar films!

I want to become a computer animator and would do anything just to get into Pixar. I admire their stories, but I’m always so impressed in how much effort they put into it. The detail improves greatly after every film, but no one takes the time to actually notice those things when I talk about the movies with friends.

I am in love.

When people give advice to youngsters like me who say “I don’t know what I want to do”, sometimes they say “which company do you really admire and would love to work for” and only Pixar comes to mind. Everytime I watch a new film, I am just in awe… I would love to be apart of the process in ANYWAY possible… At least once, you know?

I am a freshman, getting a BS in Computer Science and BA in philosophy. :)

I’m giving up on this for the time being because I don’t see myself greatly pursuing it anytime soon, and I want to make room on my list for more reasonable goals. :)

Working for Pixar 2 years ago

Making art for Pixar Films has always been my dream . . . now I’m doing it. There is no secret. It was all hard work, commitment to the dream, intense study, and a strange bit of good-timing. If you can visualize yourself making a real movie, actually being one of those people on the “behind the scenes” – then you have a good shot at it. The problem I saw in most of my classmates is they could not actually visualize themselves in their ideal environment. Either a lack of ambition, drive, creative energy or whatever you want to call it . . . the life force, the spirit, the soul . . . well, they were just afraid to use it! They feared their own power, limited their choices and ignored their natural abilities. If you know what you want, you can ask the simple question “what conditions do I need to find myself in that situation in the future?” With such a question come a bunch of sub-goals and provocations . . . getting things started was then pretty easy.

Am beginning my first steps in training in Maya! Heck of a huge program to understand, but I’ll get there one day :)

I have a B.S. in computer science, and I would love to work for these guys. The only problem? I’m in TN and I’m not moving. I can only hope they will set up operations here someday.

Wow! 2 years ago

I just typed “Pixar” into the search bar on this site, not expecting to see anything, and was surprised to see how many of you have the same aspirations that I have. I would love to work for Pixar as a marketer. I love their work, and would love to help incorporate new business ideas into it, and hopefully gain some more artistic insight and be able to work on the artistic end as well.

i was browsing the web the other day searching for jobs and just goofing around when i saw that pixar had a job opening for a story artist. yesterday, i sent my portfolio consisting of over 30 pages of sequential comics work from my comic book, HERO HAPPY HOUR. maybe they’ll like it. ;)

Encouragement 3 years ago

I was talking with a friend a couple of nights ago and found out that he used to work for Pixar. He gave me some really good advise and really inspired me. He also gave me the plastic company binder he used, and now I have a nice little reminder of my goal every single day. =0) I am truly blessed.
