If something goes wrong some day on some place and I’m around, I’d be so glad if I could help. Hopefully nothing ever happens but If it does, I’ll be ready.
How I did it: I went to http://www.redcross.org/ and found a one day class in my area. They have so many! Then I just commited to the day and signed up for the class. It was $60. Had I known it was going to be this simple I would have done this months sooner.

I did a first responder’s course. I’d like to that or a first aid course again.
As having started a new job working in a hospital, a training session in resuscitation was part of our essential induction courses. Really glad I now feel I know what to do should I find myself needing to carry out CPR, plus we were briefly shown how to use the defibrillator too.
Additionally I feel I’m competent enough to know what to do in the event of burns, various cuts and such-like. I found the site http://www.sja.org.uk/sja/first-aid-advice.aspx particularly worthwhile reading.
