i need to grow some gonads

really. backpacking must be great!

This is something I’ve always wanted to to.
I’ve always wanted to just venture into the wild and discover who i really am. I think living off the land, and without the stresses of today’s time would be great, and alot of times I feel this is exactly the escape I need.

If I were to backpack, I would most defiantly try out northern california.

wow! I’d really love to backpack through the silkroad route turkey – to china and beyond.

However since the route used to go through afghanistan there might be some flying necessary ;)

anyone else thinking of taking a similar route?

mabey through Europe or Asia or someplace else

i got my pack off of moosejaw during a sale, after coming back from a backpacking trip with my buddies. I had gone stomping thru the U.K., but we were like gypsies then – not nearly as organized as these backpackers. With their camping stoves and their monitoring each ounce.

Quickly, my addiction to backpacking was gaining. I bought a Big Agnes Sleeping bag, because my old NorthFace that i grifted off my Dad had caught a snag, and had to be put down.

And then … sigh. i had to help out the Chinese by donating my single man backpacking tent and getting a great discount on a Marmot early light 2p.

i’m going whenever i can. L.I.B., and Angeles National Forest Kings Canyon/Sequoia, Inyo National Forest, John Muir Wilderness. I’m now looking at Canada … with wide eyes, and bushy tails.

I want to just go around Europe, stay in hostels, meet people, make amazing friends, learn about other cultures.

I’m going to backpack from Louisville, KY to Havelock, NC. I’m all packed, and I have my trip route planned out. I want to start in a few weeks, but I don’t have a concrete date, and I’m worried that my apprehension will keep me from ever starting.
