drive from seattle to san diego

I think I found someone to do the drive with me. Now, we just have to coordinate off time and buy plane tickets. 12 months ago

this ended up being hard. well, at least the first day of the drive. sleep deprived and stressed about leaving does not make me a good car rider or driver. i was coo-coo, and my poor friend had to deal with me.
oh! and there was my cat in the backseat too. but it got better. good long talks, good long bits of silence, good music.
and – i learned how to speed.

my friend is flying up from san diego and staying for a few days. then we’ll pack my car with the essentials, my cat, her and me – and then hit the road. i am very excited for the trip. also nervous. i’ll be staying down in san diego for three or four months.
i take my car into the shop tomorrow in order to get it into shape for the drive. i haven’t done this drive [on any of I-5] in nearly five years. lots of people say the drive is boring. but, for some reason, i find something comforting about the drive. maybe it’s because part of it reminds me of when i was 7 and my family drove to disneyland!
i think [hope!] i have a very good travel mate as well. we seem to be able to talk for hours on end and we both have quite good taste in music [at least i think so!]. it will certainly test the dynamics of our friendship. 5 years ago

i could even stop in at my parents and stay for a couple of days. they would love that. 5 years ago
