Adrienne will be absent while taking strides for goal #1.
We routinely donate money to support the rescue dogs in Midwest Boxer Rescue. We also have supported Golden Retriever Rescue of Nebraska.
We also adopted a rescue dog through Midwest Boxer Rescue.

the rescue group from which we adopted our dog last year invited us to their anniversary party. I grabbed all the cash in my wallet and put it in the donation jar while on my way up to the food table to grab some cookies. We met a woman who had come frighteningly close to adopting our dog! She had met Gus before and was on her way back to the rescue group’s setup in front of the pet store to formally adopt him. When she arrived, she found that Adam and I had taken him home just ten mintes earlier. Wow. Let’s just say that if Gus had gone home with her instead, he would be a redneck dog right now.

This goal used to read “donate regularly to all my favorite charities.” Sure, it was a very nice, feel-good goal, but there were a couple problems with it:
How often is “regularly”?
How much was I meant to be regularly donating?
How many charities would be “all” my favorites? The top 10? The top 5? The top 20?
What are my favorite charities, anyway?
Obviously, I put this goal on my list when I was just trying to flesh out my list with lots of Things. And, of course, I got nowhere with it.
So now, I’m going to focus on donating to at least one animal rescue group. I’ve done it before, and I’d like to find a few more groups - particularly local groups - to which to donate.
