i miss living in the south. i miss the ocean even more!
How I did it: Well I started out selling vacation packages to Hilton Head Island a long time ago, but I never got to go myself. I always wanted to though, so when I was planning my wedding my husband and I were trying to find honeymoon spots that neither of us had been to before. Hilton Head Island was only three hours away from our home so we drove there after the wedding. We stayed in a great place called the Main Street Inn and we visited historic Savannah, GA while we were there as well. In Savannah we got some great photos, took a romantic walk around the riverfront and we even took a ghost tour in a horse-drawn carriage!! We also had a massage and ate some great seafood. We had a really great time. Hilton Head is really quiet and relaxed. It's great for families with younger children and people who love bike riding, golf, and beaches.
Lessons & tips: Visit Savannah, GA when you're there!! Its about 30-40 mins off the island and it is full of history, great food, and some neat little shops and things.
The Crazy Crab is a great restaurant to visit on Hilton Head. The wait staff is great and very helpful. The food is amazing but really simple. Very Southern. The Salty Dog is also a neat place.
Resources: The Main Street Inn, The Salty Dog, The Crazy Crab, Travelocity, and my wonderful husband who is great at organizing travel plans.

when I went, there was a hurricane coming. We all had to go home, but there were some fun waves at the beach to go body boarding on. It was ok, but I’ve been to better beaches. If you’re in the area, go…but I don’t recommend going out of your way to see it.
