in my bedroom, i just have to remove the mirror opposite to my bed.

People weren’t kidding about the cost of new bulbs!! I just found something reasonably priced on eBay, but it needs a new bulb – woah!! I’ve seen new projectors for the same as the prices I found.
Once again I’m disappointed. ;) need to learn to be patient!

    Very cool... 2 years ago

But expensive! Maybe next year when I’m back living with others we’ll split it, but this is on the back burner for now.

yea, I didnt have enough cash to buy a projector… so I made a DIY one… out of an old 15 inch tv & a huge fresnel lens

Projectors are always nice to own. I have one and i use it every so often. Get a good suround sound and your all set! It’s good for parties and things and just a little something fun to own.

TV without glasses! 3 years ago

Ok here are the benefits and the downside to our projector.

    Benefits
We have our TV, DVD player, and in a snap, our computer set up to the projector.

First, as already noted, we don’t have a dead TV when we are not watching anything. Just a blank wall. Makes the set up to our room seem funny to the uninitiated.

The image is amazingly huge! Larger than any big screen out! We watch High Definition TV with this and WOW! The IMAX films are amazing! Football games, & Auto racing are breath taking. Feels like you are right there!

When we travel, we just take it with us, and hook it up to the laptop! Pop in a DVD after some long hiking, or driving, and we don’t have to worry about the size of the TV in the room. (Most of which don’t have DVD access anyways! What’s up with that??) We also can look up information for the city we are in, and not have to crowd around the laptop to share information and images.

    The down side.

Pricey! When the bulb goes out, we will just buy a new projector! Such a throw away society we live in, but a bulb costs more than a new projector does!

The Vertical Blinds in the house block out the majority of the light. But it is really best to have a Night-time darkness to the room. No lights. Even the light from the kitchen is too much for the image. Looking into getting a dark curtain to block off the kitchen light from the living room. Should add that to my 43Things! ;)

I’d do it again in a heartbeat!

than the wall is onto a pile of snow. I did it over the winter with my 16 mm. It was beautiful.
