I keep a list of tasks that need to be done and once a week I set some time aside and try to get the list down.

Considering how far I’ve gone, how much I have progressed for the past 6 months, some people would think that “stop being a procrastinator” doesn’t fit in the category of “things to do” as things I haven’t still done but would like to do. And that is true. But this is more of a reminder for me to not stray away from my goal and keep myself on track, than an actual thing that still needs to be done. So it’s going to stay here, letting me know that I want and need to stay in this right path.

Several years ago I saw a classified ad for a procrastinator’s support group. I thought that was a great idea, but by the time I got around to calling the number it was disconnected.

A Necessity 19 months ago

This is necessary for ALL of my other goals to be done. I can do it.

My husband and I agree to things we would work to change, that drive each other nuts… This was what I want to change for him, so maybe with this reminding me to get my things done, they will get done.

I PROCRASTINATE A LOT. AND I MEAN A LOT. I ALWAYS GET THE WRONG IDEA ABOUT STUFF, LIKE I THOUGHT THESE CHEERS WERE UNLTD BUT THERE NOT. SO I USED THEM ALL UP ON ONE PERSON AND NOW I WANT MORE BECAUSSE THERE ARE SO MANY INTERESTING PEOPLE.

edit: Sorry, I didn’t realize caps lock was on! Whoopse!

My day planner. 2 years ago

I’ve found that I procrastinate a lot less when I use my Franklin Planner. There are probably lots of choices for day planners, but I think that the Franklin Planners are the best.

Here’s their website:

Well, I’ve been a procrastinator for a long time. I work best under pressure – as I’m sure most of you here do or maybe now did. One of my little sister’s friends (lil sis and her are both procrastinators too) made me realize that it’s a lack of focus that plays a big role in procrastintation. So since I obviously have a lot of things I want to do, procrastination is going to slow my progress.

I worked in an emergency situation for about 6 weeks. During that time I was incredibly focused (pressure!) getting a so much done in my 12+ hr day. I want to find at least a portion of that ability to focus and use it everyday.

I know I waste too much time watching TV and using the net. Have got to cut down on those. That will be a start.

WOW 3 years ago

In one day I have accomplished so much. ANd then after that one day I realized how succesful I can be if i just decide. Why was I unable to find myself? I had not decided it was time to. I didn’t have a true reason for it. I did not want to grow up. And today. I realized that in the last few weeks, I have.

HOW COOL IS THAT!
