Going out more often makes me think... would I rather be here or home? 2 years ago

A dear friend got me thinking about this the other day. Like her, I have been spending alot of time away from home more often this past few years and it is finally catching up. Two things are beginning to happen. One, I am very appreciative of certain features of my home (like my own bed and pillows, my closets and keeping them organized and my shoe room). On the other hand, secondarily, I am growing weary of having to come home to care for or maintain a large property. Here is the drumroll and punchline…

I am finally getting tired of having so much stuff to carry around (with respect to moves) as well as so much space in my home in rooms I am hardly ever in or actually functionally enjoying.

Though I appreciate space when we have company or are entertaining, I would like to find a balance of what is reasonable. That way, the more time and money I do spend getting out of the house more often is not seated like an anchor on the bottom of a bay. Though I have to come home to maintain now, I am going to make a plea that we be able to lighten the load (so to speak) in order to make myself more flexible.

My friend came up with the solution to let go of anything that does not give her hapiness and function, placed the rest in storage and got herself two more modest spaces in areas that she loves spending her time. That way, when she wants to go she has all the comforts of home without any of the headaches of maintenance and care. I am really thinking hard about this; what do I really want or need and where would I really like it all to be? HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

Get out of the house more often? Done and also planning on doing indefinately.
