I used to shoot when I was younger, but I haven’t drawn a bow for years. I’d love to get back to it, but the main problems are a) I work shifts, so it’s difficult to find regular times to go to a club; and b) I have difficulty finding a suitable club. Couple that with the fact that there’s no way I could afford all the kit I’d need and things aren’t looking too good.
Not that I’d need an awful LOT of kit… A bow (I shoot a composite recurve), some arrows (obviously), an arm brace and tab… Not much else. When I first started shooting I was mad keen to get sights and stabilisers and suchlike, and I was absolutely rubbish. But then I tried shooting barebow and improved enormously; so I generally keep it simple.
