So this is a goal that I have been trying to achieve for the longest time.

We are a rock en español band based in Boston. http://www.myspace.com/logicatransparente There are a few bands around here in that same genre. But we tend to be a little different in the fact that we play all originals and we play a little bit louder than the rest of the bands.

The problem with the rock en español audience here is that they want to hear older covers of bands like enanitos verdes, caifanes, mana etc. So it tends to be a little tough to do all originals.

Currently we just finished mastering our first LP and are in the process of rehearsing for live performance. We are getting out of the basement and moving into a real rehearsal space near here. Since the recording was done all buy ourselves (except the mastering)we see it fit that we try to do all of the live promotion and marketing ourselves. At least for now.

Hopefully by the end of the summer we will have a few shows booked. And be able to achieve this goal

We’ve played in houseparties and stuff before, but I want to play at a club-type place now, somewhere anyone can come.

Im in a punk rock band called Dead Giveaway (myspace.com/deadgiveawayband) were just abuot ready to start looking to play shows except our drummer cant play punk so we need a new drummer. Once we get one I think we’ll play a show soon after.

So close I can taste it. And smell it. Can't quite hear it though. 19 months ago

Yesterday, my band played at a birthday party. New people exposed to us/our music. Positive responses! I can only hope that soon we will be playing in a public place.

'Nother show for friends! 22 months ago

So we played a second show for our friends in our practice space. This time there were more people there! I think as soon as we can get a permanent drummer and he/she learns the songs, we’ll be ready for a real show. Then the challenge becomes finding a place where we can play. But this is just another step closer!

    Almost! 2 years ago

WHOO! We (the band and I) just had a live studio performance. In other words, we were in our practice space, but we had an audience. They seemed to enjoy it. It’s not quite a live show, but it’s a step in the right direction. I think I did pretty good with my stage banter, but I got too quiet during the middle of the set. HOWEVER IT WAS INCREDIBLE FOR ME. I think I NEED to play a live show soon. NEED. But we need a permanent drummer first. Or a drum machine. Or something. Our guitarist’s dad just filled in this time. Grar. Anyway, I thought it was a great accomplisment, and I guess I’m almost there.

I think my goal is almost tangible, because we now have a gig on the 28th! I’m so excited! I’ll update on how it goes :]
