mysecretphantom*Germany 2*

One of my friends from college lives for most of the time in Germany. She recently came back over to the UK to visit, and asked if me and a few other friends would like to go and visit her in Germany next year in the Summer around her Birthday =]

Of course I told her that I’d love to! xD
She lives near Frankfurt, so it’d be a part of Germany that I haven’t been to before, which will be really exciting, and I’m looking forward to planning the trip and going over there to see her and do some travelling =) 19 months ago

mysecretphantomThe Netherlands

I went to The Netherlands (mainly Holland) in 2008 with my family as a holiday. I really liked it. It was so picturesque at times; the windmills, and the canals and cobbled streets. I just thought that it was really pretty =]
I’m trying to learn Dutch at the moment so that when I leave I’ll be able to make a bit of smalltalk, and not have to insist that everyone speak in English. I feel a bit embarressed when I do not understand someone in their native language and I’m on holiday. It feels like I should have put in an effort and learnt the language.

I’d just love to go back sometime and explore the whole of it. And I also love cycling there, and their bikes. Best bike I ever rode, honestly, when I go back I’m going to buy a bike. And they have great cycle paths, also because it’s rather a flat country it is easy to get around, and to enjoy the scenery at a leisurely pace.
And in Summer (when we went) it was lovely weather.
Beautiful sunshine =) 23 months ago

mysecretphantomGermany

Firstly, and foremost, I know German (ish; I did GCSE) – which is a big help. Secondly, they have the most amazing Christmas Markets. They are adorable, and really cool, and they have massive cookies and warm food/drink kiosks. And around town there are toy santas that they have positioned on their roofs or in their drives, with little ladders and bag of presents. Sooo the best Christmas season I’ve ever seen!

I’d like to go back there, and maybe go to a slightly different area, seeing as last time I went to Munich, in Bavaria. 23 months ago
