get California to secede from the U.S.

The large californian economy might actually be a hindrance in efforts to cecede: a prize that the US would fight dearly for. I would be happy to claim a little anonymous island, and cecede from world politics… California is a bit too blinded by the red/blue polarity, anyway. What color are libertarians?
