Okay, I'm pretty grounded 9 months ago

and down to earth, but I want to do this, just to see what kind of impressions someone who doesn’t know me gets about me and shares or predicts for me. I think a reasonably priced, semi-objective “read” might help me to connect with myself in a different way than I’m used to doing. Even if it is hokey and flimflammy, and heck maybe it’s the better for it, at least more entertaining and more apt to be taken with a grain.

Plus, there’s one I pass by regularly with a sign out tempting me to indulge in $20 worth of someone’s undivided “professional” attention. At worst, it would be a hoot and a coupla sawbucks down the drain.

I went today 10 months ago

to get my palm read. B and I booked a double session with a palm reader in the city. I’ve wanted to get a proper palm reading done for a long time now, and B has also been curious. So on a whim, a few days ago, we decided to organise something.

I liked the woman we went to see. The session lasted about 3 hours – she took her time and didn’t rush. She has been practicing for 30 years and references different palmistry traditions – e.g. Indian, Chinese etc.

She split the time pretty evenly, spending about an hour and a half on each of us. I felt like a lot of what she said was quite accurate. One of the most interesting things for me was when she pointed to my having some ability with drawing and art. This is something I have mostly shelved over the last ten years or so. It makes me think I should look at taking it up again. I have certainly thought about it over the past few years but it just never seemed like the right time.

I think, if you are going to get this done it’s worth taking the time to seek someone out who has really studied palmistry and knows what they’re talking about. The last time I got my palm read it was at a market, and I didn’t think the reading was that good.

I have always wanted to get my palm read not because I really believe your future can be told by your hands but because I think your hands can teach you alot about yourself.

but i want someone who knows how to do it well to do my palm

I read them 21 months ago

Be careful of who you go to. There are people who talk in generalities and tell you what you think you want to hear.

There are those of us who read them for real, and see what it has to say. your lines are shaped by your life, and they do change over time, so don’t base your whole future on one palm reading.

Basin Park 23 months ago

My boyfriend and I decided to take a totally random trip to Eureka Springs, AR and this day became one of the best in my entire life. The people there are fantastic and the energy is very chill. After wandering downtown Eureka, Kenny & I decided to rest a while and listen to the live bands. As Kenny ran to a nearby bar to grab a drink I noticed that a woman, as close as a gypsy as I have ever seen, was giving palm readings on a park bench. I felt that this was my oppurtunity and even though it cost me 10 bucks, it was so fun to hear some of the crazy things she had to say. I will say this, a lot of the things she had to tell me were pretty general, sure, but a lot of it was on target. She told me that I was facing an awakening, and I think, on this day, it began.

I am checking this off as worth it, based on the fact that it satisfied my curiosity. As for the actual reading itself…well, she basically told me things I knew myself. She said I should definetly finish school because education is important. Other than that fact, she told me around the time I’d get married (25 closer to 26) and the time I’ll die (75 closer to 76) and that I would have “two or three children.” She explained this to me as two or three because I would “choose to have two OR three…choices are important these days, you know. females have a lot more choices…”
haha. still not sure if it was worth the ten dollars, though…
