i would love to rescue an animal. there are some stray cats that walk around my block and they dont get fed. i want to feed them and help them so that they can live out their “kitty” lives fully. it would also warm my heart to help those cats in need. but you see, the thing is, my dog doesnt like the cats and wants to bark at them and all my neighbors hate the cats. so if i wanted to, my parents probably wouldnt let me. all my neighbors want the cats to go away, but i feel so bad for them. i think there are like 5 or 6 of the same cat around plus 2 little baby kittens of a different breed of cat. no one knows where those cats came from, since they are babies. there is no sign of parents around. but, above all, I WILL SAVE THOSE CATS!! regardless of what my neighbors say and think.

How I did it: i went to the pet store and i bought food to feed them with. then i put the food in a bowl where the cats hang out. this will be a new regular thing for me!

For the last few years we have seen an influx in cats in the neighborhood. We have a green belt behind the house that must make good hunting grounds or something. But About two years ago the neighbors had a cat and she had a litter of kittens. They did not know that the cat is fertile right after having kittens so she got pregnant again right away. The got kicked out of the house and took the kitten she had had and left her to fend for herself. I took her in and made an appointment with a no kill shelter to take her and her kittens when she had them. She had them two days before she was scheduled to be dropped off – a cute litter of three. All four got adopted. Shortly after that I found another cat in our yard very dehydrated and very pregnant. I bribed her with some wet food and water got her in a kennel and took her to the nearest no kill shelter that said they could take that day. She survived and had her kittens as well. We had a dog that lived with us for many years that was dumped at the corner – she had been abused – she lived to be over 17 years old. Now I currently have a cat to that adopted me – she was left on the street as well. It is very rewarding – but it is frustrating that people think animals are so disposable.

The house next door to mine had a fire some time ago. One day while the construction workers were next door working there was a knock on the door. The workers found a nest of three big baby pigeons and asked if we could take care of them. I personally have no idea what the demands of pigeons are so my mom and I drove almost an hour away to the nearest wildlife reservation. They assured us that the babies would be taken care of and I bought a t-shirt to remember the day.

So far I have rescued one dog and 3 cats. My labrador retriever, Sky, was with me for 12 years after I adopted him from the Humane Society. He was scheduled to be euthanized on a Sunday and I discovered him the day before! It was surely divine intervention. He was the light of my life. The unconditional love we shared was nothing less than one of life’s miracles, and the love he shared with children and the elderly was beautiful. He was a beautiful soul.
I’ve had a cat from a rescue centre – she was lovely but got browbeaten by our existing cat and moved out to live next door a few months ago!
Unfortunately she got run over a couple of weeks ago but at least she had a couple of years of good fortune!
I am always rescuing birds and mice that our cat brings in – they all seem to survive!

Someone trapped a chipmunk in a cage! I got it free, and it turned out the landlords mom trapped it?
I treat most of them like people.
I rescued a baby dog from the streets once and she lived with me for a long time after.
I also pissed a lot of people in my life opening cages to let birds escape. If you have a bird in a cage, don’t let me come near… I WILL open the cage and free the poor thing.

There was a massive guinea pig rescue recently and many were going to be put down. I worked for days with a sorority sister and even ended up taking home two of my own. But they’re safe!
