sort out my wardrobe

I’m still trying to sort through all my old clothes. Having a really hard time throwing things out – and it complicates things that I need a ‘downgrade this to the farm’ category. Old bobbly T shirts and hoodies that need to go in the bin are being saved for mucking out duties – though in reality I’m probably too vain to even wear them for that. Also, it further complicates things that I have a ‘customize’ category – I kid myself that I will find time to transform ruined old jeans into cute miniskirts… I think it’s my creative side plotting to destroy me with junk and guilt and bad fashion…

I revamped a great old wardrobe a put a new hanging rail in it. Thing is, it isn’t the BIGGEST wardrobe in the world – even though it takes up a huge amount of space – the actual storgae capacity isn’t huge. I have a new (old) chest of drawers too, but I don’t want to cram them full – I hate when you have to pull loads of things out to find what you want.

SO. I need to actually get rid of the clothes that are too big/ too small/ too old/ too ugly and that I realistically know i will not (or at least should not) wear. . .

I bought a few new things – just little accessories like scarves and belts – that hopefully will co-ordinate with clothes I already have, and breathe colour into some of the boring/black things I own – I’m aiming for a ‘Gok’ style ‘capsule wardobe’ – but I know I’ll never be that disciplined about it. but I don’t want to own anything that won’t go with anything else – I mean, what’s the point?

Sort sort sort. . .

since moving back to my parents earlier in the year i’ve never really sorted my clothes…after moving twice in 2 months who could blame me? anyway it needs done, I want to seperate items into those that need thrown out or can be used as scraps for a patchwork quilt, those that can go to charity, those that i can customise and give a new lease of life to and finally.. those i want to keep!

I don’t really have that many clothes, I just need to organize my wardrobe haha – put everything in it’s place and on hangers and what not :)

Underwear drawer sorted – next bags

I’ve put some new life into some of my old clothes by dyeing them with some Dylon I got off ebay. A cheap way to create some new looks during this recession!

The best result was this cord blazer I have that was just the wrong shade of green to ever be in fashion again, so I’ve dyed it grey and now look forward to wearing it as it will now pretty much go with anything in my wardrobe. I am revelling in my own awesomeness! :)

I’m now planning to make some great denim mini skirts with some old jeans I don’t wear any more.

Reduce, re-use, recycle!

I really need to get to grips with my wardrobe.

It seems like it’s jam packed and that I couldn’t fit anything more in it, but really it’s just full of clothes I never wear! I’m thinking it’s time to do something good and have a sort out and donate the clothes I never wear to charity!

This is next weekends job when I have no more exams and can just relax with some tidying… tidying and sorting is actually something I find enjoyable for some strange reason!

it is not perfect, but it suits the purpose, for now.
since i can’t fit in half of it, and intend to do so, i leave this issue for now.

i hired my friend to do the ironing for a small fee while i was sorting things in wardrobe. we enjoyed talking and improvement is visible.
now i have ironed shirts for work and wardrobe closet looks a bit better! yeepee :-)

although i given up my home organising goal, i actually have new wadrobe closet so i can coutinue sorting my stuff in it. although i have no bar in it; i can use self standing bar i have. i can do this and depend on noone. that’s good. i can have an iland of perfection in the midst of all that mess.
