How to take tap dance lessons
How I did it: My geography is the only thing I can think of that limited me in getting back into tap dance (hence, the 3 years duration). Lack of enthusiasm was never a factor! In my area, it was very, very hard to find schools that offer instruction in adult tap, especially for 'beginners.' Although I danced when I was younger, it's been 15 years, so I needed a refresher.
My teacher is great and very accommodating to all of her students' needs. This is my second year with this dance school, and I couldn't be happier.
Lessons & tips:
- Call around and be annoying. =) In the last several years, I've called sooooo many dance schools in the phone book, leaving messages and asking detailed questions. Get all the info, because starting tap as an adult can be daunting, if you're not in the right class.
- JUST DO IT! It's even more fun now than I remember it being as a kid.
