imajicas43things is happy to have completed a goal
Sold 6 items today :) I’d listed 7 so I’m happy with that. Still got a house full of stuff though so this is far from completed.
How I did it: I was making room for new clothes, found some lovely older stuff.. but it got too big. I did love those pieces but what do I do with it if I can't wear it.. better sell it. I placed it on ebay for 7 days. I know I'll never get that money back that I payed for it, but when I forgot about that, than all money is good. I made myself a compromise that this money is only for my summerholiday spending.
And finally I sold 4 pieces and made a bit over 50 euro.. not bad I say!
Lessons & tips: Clean out your closets more often, what you don't wear - even if you love it - sell it! (if the condition is good) What good does it do for you if it just stay in your closet.. you'll never get that money back you payed it for but better than nothing. If you haven't wore it in months, get rid off it!
Resources: ebay.. old clothes..

I’m downsizing for a variety of reasons. I need to sell off my doll and dollhouse collection.
The reason I’m procrasting is:
1. It’s a LOT of small bits to photograph and list
2. There are a few large dollhouses that need special packaging
3. I just hate going to the Post Office and standing in line, and I’m at work all week so can’t use their pick up service
My alternatives are:
1. pack everything up and hope for an opportunity to sell everything at a doll fair in Texas – which will entail driving, spending a weekend in Texas, dealing with people picking over my collection and possibly stealing.
2. sell at a loss to a local doll collector who will sell at a profit on ebay.
3. sell at a huge loss with a garage sale and deal with people picking over my collection and possibly stealing.
So really, I need to put on my big girl panties, take the photos, write the listings, list the stuff, pack it, mail it, pay off my school loans with the proceeds, move to a smaller house, achieve my minimalist lifestyle.
Simple.
Not.

That’s what they tell me when I receive a payment :) Three items sold out of my six listed. Payments rec’d, and being shipped today! Goal accomplished.

For one book! And the auction closes tomorrow. I can’t believe five people care enough to bid on a book ( that you can buy for half that elsewhere on the ‘net, but shhhh don’t tell them that )... but hey, I’m not gonna argue. I’m stoked to be getting 75% of my purchase price back on a book I bought a couple years ago.
And two of my first auctions closed today, and sold. Just waiting for the payment… and I’ll mark this as done!

I’ve never been so excited over a few bucks! I just checked my sales… and I have a second bid on one item!!! They’re fighting for my book! Woohoo! And I have one bid on two other items each. So, three out of six have bids… not too shabby. This could become a habit. :D

I got my first bid! nevermind that it’s for a minimal amount... it’s a bid! Yay! On my way to my first sale…

Just got my first feedback from a half.com sale! I was feeling self conscious with my little zero mark next to my name. Have yet to sell something on the main ebay thought, via bidding… but I did just put up two more things that I’m hoping will get a bite.

for a couple years now, but have been intimidated by ebay, and have simply procrastinated in figuring this out. I knew I could, it just never was a priority. Well, I decided to start selling used books online on ebay and set up four auctions a couple days ago. And I discovered half.com and listed about 40 titles for sale there. I’m in a learning mode at the moment… just trying to figure out the system, as opposed to maximizing my profits, and have listed most titles at 99 cents in an effort to accrue some sales and positive feedback for my username. It’s all very exciting, as I have made 5 sales on half.com in the past 48 hrs. I just shipped them off at the post office and am just working on figuring out budgeting and how my expenses will work for this new venture…. But my four little auctions on ebay have yet to get a bid, so I am waiting until I officially sell something via bidding to mark this goal as done!

So, my goal to get rid of stuff will be helped along if I sell my stuff on ebay. We have a donation center right down the road, but I have some really nice stuff that I don’t want, but I know I can sell. It’s hard to put “money” into a donation bin, so my goal to get rid of stuff is really hindered right now. I’ve sold on ebay before and it’s not actually hard, but I really need to get pictures taken and get it done!
