I just completed disc 4 of season 5 about half an hour ago. I’ve been watching that box all week, and it’s finally done. So I suppose I’ve met this goal since that’s the last disc I have. Looks like I’ve gotta shell out some cash for season 6 now.

Well another disc passes, and one of Seinfeld’s best seasons ends. Disc 4’s episode list includes The Old Man, The Implant, The Junior Mint, The Smelly Car, The Handicap Spot, and finishes with The Pilot (1&2). There weren’t as many extras on this disc probably because it has a crapton of episodes and even an alternate version of The Handicap Spot which features John Rudolph playing George’s dad and then a remake with Jerry Stiller playing him.
Out of this disc, the most memorable episode is probably The Junior Mint which is a bit of an unbelievable sequence of events. Kramer and Jerry watch a surgery, and Kramer snacks on Junior Mints while watching. Offering Jerry one, they haggle a little bit, and it falls down from the observation area into the open paitent. If I’m ever asked if I want a Junior Mint or not, I’m saying yes. Not because a man’s life might be at stake, but because Junior Mints are the most awesome things known to man. In fact, I’m going downstairs right this instant to get a box of Junior Mints out of the vending machine!
[ A few minutes later… ]
Man that’s a good box of Junior Mints. This really wraps up Season 4. If you happen not to like Junior Mints, go jump off a cliff. If you do like them, then you’re an awesome person, and you should pat yourself on the back.
I saw all of season 4, disc 3 last night. This DVD included The Airport, The Pick, The Visa, The Movie, The Outing, and The Shoes. Several of these are fairly memorable episodes that have catchlines in everyday use. Most of all, this is true of The Outing, where Seinfeld was to be interviewed by a college newspaper journalist who suspects that Seinfeld is gay (not that there’s anything wrong with that) following a prank that Elaine pulled at the coffee shop. This of course was helped by the fact that Seinfeld is in his 30s, single and he’s a neat freak. George doesn’t help anything either, not that he ever does. Another memorable episode is The Visa which is the episode that Babu Bhatt gets deported in and Jerry gets marked as a Very Bad Man.
If it hasn’t been said before, Seinfeld is comedy gold.
