get my CompTIA A+ certification

If you are getting at least 90% on the practice exams, go ahead and take the test!!! This is a pretty easy test to study for if you have a good bit of experience in the industry.

I have been an MCP since 1999 and have been working as a consultant since then under the SewellConsulting.com banner. Now, however, I find myself back in the market and needing to work for somebody else’s clients and my lack of credentials is sorely felt. Even with 15+ years of experience in building workstations and servers to order, designing and installing networks and even installing and enhancing mobile communications platforms, I can hardly get anybody to call me for an interview. My hope is that with an A+, MCP and a CCNA folks will take notice of my skills and experience and I can get a real job without working for myself. We shall see…

I passed both the core hardware an OS parts of the test by around 200 points, and I did it only one day before they changed the material and combined the tests into the “IT Technician” exam. I even drug a friend in there to pass with me! O Frabjuous Day!
