think faster

I think my brain is mush… ? At least the reactive part. I’m SMART, but not too quick. Just takes me a little longer to kick it into gear than most people. And I’m in the health care field, no place for daydreaming or lollygagging… : (

I have no good reason anymore for wanting to be able to think faster. Thinking faster doesn’t mean thinking better.

I have noticed a big difference between the speed that I could think at while I was at school and university and the speed that I can think at now after 2 years of working. I used to finish tests long before anyone but these days I am struggling to think fast while trying to solve problems at work.

I believe that it is because when I was at school, I used to do a lot of thinking and learning about a lot of different subjects which really gave my mind a good workout.

I think that if I do some maths and learn a few things in other subjects that I will bring the speed of my mind back to what it was back then.

I thought about how I used to play in pc gaming tournaments and how fast you have to think and make decisions when you play. I have decided to start playing quake 3 again to see if it will somehow get my mind into thinking and making decisions faster.

My boss always tells me how slow I am at doing my work and how long it takes me to make decisions and give him answers. Someone also asked me straight if I take a long time to think about what I want to say before I say it and right there I realised that I actually do.

I want to figure out how to answer to people quicker without having to think about everything first. The only advantage of thinking before you speak is that you don’t say things without thinking before you speak.
