Okay, I was trying to clear up my email. Long story short, Yep – it’s definitely “all clear”! Hundreds of emails, saved and new incoming. GONE.
And yet, no panic. I actually feel a sense of relief. Anything THAT important will somehow make its way back into my e-life. And now, the best part is that I’ve been able to manage my In Box on a daily basis.
Consider this goal Mission Accomplished! I so verrry happy! :D

I really haven’t focused on this in some time. I’m almost afraid to look, but I will check the status now.
928 unread and 1699 total. There are definitely e-mails I can delete more quickly. I will work at getting it back to the last numbers.

I think my email accounts are breeding when I’m not looking. I will definitely meet this goal:
1) Immediately open all incoming emails for the day.
2) Delete them if possible.
3) Answer if necessary, then delete (the reply will be saved anyway if I need to reference).
4) Create a HOLD folder and throw in the emails I need to deal with in the next day or two.
I think the culprit are my friends who send me jokes and chain letters. I delete the chain letters without reading and only about 1% of the jokes are truly funny, 99% are groaners (which is sad because I’m so easily amused most of the time).

Unfortunately, I haven’t accomplished what I set out to yet but I still have it in mind. On the bright side, I am slightly under the last count and I am trying to deal with new e-mails as they come in.
I also just realized that it doesn’t exactly make sense to be considering all e-mails when talking about cleaning up my e-mail account. I will still have messages I will have chosen to keep. I knew this but I think it slipped my mind and as I re-read my last post, it clicked that I am not trying to eliminate every single e-mail from my account so in reality, I have less to work through than I thought. I wonder if I should set a limit to how many and/or how long certain saved e-mails should be held onto.

I’ve been trying to deal with new e-mails as they come and to delete those needing to be deleted.
I mentioned wanting to have this e-mail account cleared by the end of January but it is such a busy time now. So though it would be possible, there are other priorities and I think it would be more reasonable for me to aim to cut the numbers from my last entry in half by the end of the month.
So by then, I would like the numbers to be 450 unread and 765 total. If less, even better!
