How to graffiti

How I did it: I've been a writer for a few yrs now. I have to say that doing graffiti is in part is about the xhiliration of doing something "illegal" and getting away with it. But more than that, it is an art form. Anyone that is a true writer knows that graffiti is all about your letters. The sicker your style is the more you are respected. It's a culture thing. When someone looks at your piece they dont know your skin color, what "social class" you are, what you listen to or what you wear. All they know is a name thats attached to a style(s). Those who are dedicated to the culture aspire avidly to pursue that creativity to new levels. New styles and new colors. Graffiti is not about taking a can to a wall and writing "fuck you". That is not art. A lot of writers are actual art students who have a appreciation and knowledge for colors and shapes and how they work. Others are artistic individuals who took an interest and found it rewarding as a form of expression. That is what graffiti is, its a form of expression. Some good some bad but its a dedication to the art. It takes a lot to go out at night and climb over fences or tracks to get to that one perfect spot, throwing up a piece and hope that it doesn't get painted over next day.
Lessons & tips: Read a little before you do it. Get the right equipment and know your location. Preferable time is night time. Resources: Cans, Mops, Stencils, Etc.

Yesterdayy I went on my first mission by myself well i took some kid that didnt tagg with me to show him the experience..lol now hes addicted.
I did my own bomb all by myself it came out a bit sloppy but im proud of it..theres just something about it that makes u want to keep practicing, keep doing it…next time i will do some way sicker shit but for now that was really Funn[:
ADVICE:draw whatever you wanna do on the wall on paper first, figure out waht colors u wanna use..wait til night time..&&& just go for it..You only get better with practice…a sick tagger Bird from A.Team told me once “you can’t get any worse than you are, only beter” hope that stix with u like it stuck with me…Stay Up

I was driving to Detroit this afternoon to buy some art supplies, and I noticed on my way back out of the city, that nearly every overpass was tagged on EACH pillar! I am going to be an art teacher, and plan on teaching a unit on graffiti. But I remembered something an artist once told me, “How can you teach what you haven’t experienced?” I saw one bridge that had some of the most beautiful, colorful designs. I’m hoping to go back soon to photograph it… and maybe start some of my own!

It was in Kenosha at the Lighthouse in the middle of the night.

ive been doing this for about 9 months now. it is such an amazing feeling to climb up rooftops, and leaving your mark. it is such a great feeling to think that people the next day will see your work, and think “who did that, how, why?”

I went tagging for the very first, possibly my last time, since I got caught by my mom. (it’s a long story)
Anyway. It’s harder than it looks, but definitely a lot of fun. A friend and I went down to a local wash and just kind of spray-doodled. I made an octopus. I have yet to see it in the daytime, but when I do, I’ll be sure to post a picture!
Oh, and it’s a real pain in the wrist after a while.

just go for it, i been doin graff for bout 3years now. i do alot of paid work for companies now aswell as doing it in my spare time.. practise makes perfect and respect will go a long way in the end.
