I have studied Tae Kwon Doe for a while but decided i didnt like it. I now study Ninjutsu and love it. Its important to try different types of martial arts and find one that suits you.
How to study Martial Arts
How I did it: I was lucky enough to have a best friend who was a fifth degree black belt in Aikido and a third degree in Judo. I talked him into starting his own dojo. One of the best things I've accomplished in my life.
Lessons & tips: Find a reputable sensei. If you learn the wrong way it will be very difficult to unlearn. Also, shadow pratice any chance you get.

i’ve practiced jiu jitsu and army combatives (which is basically jiu jitsu). i want to learn muay thai and capoeira when i get the chance. but martial arts isn’t entirely about fighting. its about self confidence. motivation. self improvement. and it will help keep you physically fit. i think it has helped me a lot.

LEARN KUNG FU
Studying to become a Martial Artist in the American Kempo style. My local school is Garrett’s Karate Center in Cameron Park. My instructor is Sensei Laurel Harrod.
....once u really start with it. U just keep practicing.. I guess it becomes a way of life after a few years.
I do recommend practicing Martial Arts. But eveyone needs to find his/her own way, art, style. So don’t be discouranged by your school/master -if it’s not working out well -maybe this one is not for u. Try taking another route, another direction.. But i can say for sure that everyone, regardless of a character or a fitness can succeed and enjoy studying.
Through the years i’ve switched from a rather soft japanese martial art to a more practical fighting systems and it suits me fine, and i’ve seen people do the other way round because their state of mind/age/fitness was diffirent -so the only way here is to be dedicated and to keep seeking the right path for u.

I’m going to Hong Kong and am going to stay with Monks and study Wing Chun Kung Fu. Bruce Lee obviously being my inspiration for this.
the main reason I want to do this is so I can defend myself when someone tries to steal my bike!
This is really cool; and something I’ve wanted to do for many years – but it’s a means to an end for me; and my means won’t meet this end yet. I’m putting this one on the backburner until I’ve met a couple of other (related) goals.
My options are limited at this point in my life. So I’m going to begin by devoting time to studying the philosophy underlying the different schools of Kung Fu. At the same time, I’m going to keep my eyes and ears open for a teacher.
