I definitely did not expect to be included in this, it wasn’t even the plan! But thanks to my husband and his very nice higher up, I was invited to ride along with them in the 4th of July Parade and it was a trip. There were triple the amount of people from the last parade; we had a complete blast!!

Since I was in intermediate and high school, I’ve been in tons of parades thanks to marching band! July 4th, Christmas, football season, you name it, we were there!
Most recently though my husband was asked to be a part of our King Kamehameha Day Parade and he asked me to join him in it! It had been years since I’d been in one, so I figured what the heck :D We had a blast together and really enjoyed ourselves! I am thankful that he wanted me to ride along with him ♥

One of the few things in my town that get people to come out in droves is our Christmas parade. When I was younger, I always wanted to be in the parade.
Christmas 2006 I got cast as Mrs. Cratchitt in A Christmas Carol. As such, I got to ride on the front of the float with Bob Cratchitt. Scrooge and Marley walked in front.
It was pretty epic.

Yup, I proudly walked in the Onion Days Parade in Wolf Lake, IN (pop. 150) when I was a kid. I think I dressed up like a Huck-Finn style runaway with a straw hat, rolled up overalls, bandanna on a stick over my shoulder and was accompanied by my dog.

always takes part in the St Patrick’s Day Parade. This year one of the Dad’s offered to let us ride in his classic stock green ‘63 Ford Falcon that was handed down to him from his Father.
I rode along just in case the girls acted up but they were all very well behaved. We all practiced our princess wave beforehand.
The funny thing is that I don’t think I have ever been to see a real parade before. I have watched them on TV and they just bore me.

purplefibermom feels hung-over even though I didn't drink anything last night
in the town Memorial Day parade when I was a Girl Scout. There were always a few rowdy boys hiding by the post office with pea shooters. One year my mom (the G.S. leader) marched out of formation and ripped the straws right out of their hands. :D
She didn’t put up with any crap!

I did it!! I had won a contest at my bank to be the Grand Marshall of our State Fair Daily Parade- it was awesome- I got to ride on a pickup truck with three of my family and friends- it was cool to feel sort of famous for half an hour- maybe one day when I’m famous I’ll get to do it again….
