I think I’m going to give up on this. I feel nauseous after drinking my green tea. Think I may switch to a “drink herbal tea every day” goal .. quite like the other stuff you know, chamomile, hibiscus, spices etc .. OR perhaps it’s just Tetley’s green tea bags and the organic stuff that’s foul. I tried Twining’s Jasmine Green tea and it’s pretty un-foul. Maybe will try that.

Oh .. didn’t have my dose today. It’s Christmas. Give me a break!

Day 2 6 months ago

Sipping my mid-morning (well, noon) cup of green tea. Must confess that I was sort of dreading it all morning. But it’s not too bad. I discovered it tastes better if I don’t let it brew for more than 2 or 3 minutes. After that it gets bitter.

But is bitter better? LOL

so far, so good 6 months ago

well it’s only the end of the first day, and I had just one cup of green tea, but I’m also sipping a very nice herbal tea now. Not QUITE green tea, but just as good healthwise I suppose. Cinnamon, oregano and thyme – some nice organic stuff I picked up at a crafts bazaar.

Am I suppose to replace my black tea with green? Do I want to? I love my morning cuppa with hot toast! I think I shall just add green but not deny myself that breakfast tea I love :o)

How much green tea is one supposed to drink anyway? Can I drink it at night or will it keep me up? Well, I made a start this morning, at any rate, with a mid-morning cuppa. However, it’s now teatime and I couldn’t resist my usual milk-and-sugar chai (not really .. the lazy person’s version: teabag, hot water, and a spoonful of condensed milk).

I suppose if I can make the green tea a daily habit (heard it takes 3 weeks?) then I can count this goal as accomplished?

For all Ramadan. 10 months ago

I made about a gallon of sun tea and drank it tonight. I think it would be nice to sip about this much every night of Ramadan after I break my fast. I heard it is good for weight loss, and it tastes good. As soon as the jug is empty I am gonna put out a new batch to sun for the day and be ready tomarrow night inshallah. And if I use all the green tea I can say “ha” to my husband because he said “you will never drink all this tea that you bought”.

At work 13 months ago

It’s probably best for me to try this goal at work as I’m more likely to drink it during the day sometime than in either the morning or the evening. I never drink hot drinks at work, but it’s worth a shot…

It might be worth starting off smaller and try drinking green tea once a week and then build up.

I have been really good about this lately! I really like green tea.

Hindrances To This Goal 14 months ago

When trying to form a habit, it is useful to consider the problems that may stop you from succeeding. I’ve failed on this goal in the past, but I want to feel healthier and I am keen to succeed in this goal. I just need to do it in the right way.

The problems I’ve had with this is that although I like green tea, I don’t like it strong and I don’t like a lot. I would make myself a mug of the stuff, but then I wouldn’t want to drink a whole mug every day.

I also didn’t drink it at work, so that left mornings and evenings, neither of which appealed. Mornings are probably better.

I think I will try and drink a smaller amount every morning, and perhaps I will do better :)

I’ve come to a point where I brew several small pots of loose-leaf green tea a day. If you’re just starting out with this goal, I’d recommend you try to adjust to the bitter flavor by not adding honey or sugar; in the beginning, they will only highlight the flavor that you’re initially disliking, or you will end up adding so much that in the end you’re only tasting the sugar. At first I wasn’t keen on the taste of green tea, but after about two weeks of drinking it daily (without sweetener), I came to appreciate it’s unique flavor, and have been enjoying it (everyday) since.

If you’re finding it boring, then steeping it with dried fruit, dried citrus peel, or a small amount of mint or ginger, and adding a little honey, can provide endless possibilities.

Will try again 23 months ago

I think I’m going to try this goal again in the near future but I’ll start off by being less strict with how often I drink it and then build up to once a day. I think it was a mistake to rush into this – especially as I only really like a small amount of green tea. It isn’t something I love really, but it’s nice in small amounts. In addition to green tea, I’d like to try ginger tea one day and also green tea with peppermint.
