After the first five or so blossoms died, nothing has happened since, and it doesn’t appear to be growing any more. After talking with some plant people, a hypothesis was that perhaps it wasn’t getting cold enough at night for it. So I’ll try putting it outside at night for a few weeks, and maybe moving it back from the sun a bit during the day/evenings.

Got my first blossom on the plant this week – has so far lasted about seven days, and I am very excited. It smells great. I’ve been pretty careful about monitoring the water level, but I haven’t used any plant food or anything yet.
Still need to do my reading – I will try and fit that in this week.
I did my plant shopping for the summer this weekend, and bought a new Gardenia. This one is called a “Hardy Gardenia” so maybe that is a new kind I haven’t tried before.
This week I plan to do some reading about feeding it and acid levels. I also need to eventually get a new pot for it, as it turns out it’s bigger than all the pots I had at home.
I should also mention that it has no blooms yet – I will keep track of them as they (hopefully) occur.
I love gardenias, and every year I adopt one only to have it die on me. This will be the summer I adopt them until I can learn how to keep one alive. Last year I did okay with using acidic Miracle Grow, but in the end it still committed suicide.
