While I know this is a good skill to have as I am in the IT field it’s not my real goal. My real goal is to obtain a CCNS Voice Certification as it so happens the prereq for this is to be CCNA certified. So that will be my first goal, the CCNA Voice is the ultimate. I have the ExamCram for the Voice portion but after the first chapter I knew I was wasting my time because I couldn’t take the exam without first passing the initial CCNA. First thing on my list is to purchase the CCNA ExamCram.

How I did it: Studied CBT Nuggets. Practiced on routers and swtiches.Read books. Had my friends quiz me. Watched all videos straight through without skipping or getting distracted. Purchased the test with a "deadline" date of 3 weeks from that day so it made me study knowing my test was around the corner. Read how I did it…

How I did it: I have a basic of Information system degree not related much to networking but close enough. I do work as network engineer but no certifications at that time. I took the express course on CCNA, bought myself some good books - one of them from Todd Lammle. Bought CBTNuggets video tutorial with the author Jeremy Ciaora. Visit blogs and sites about Cisco and CCNA and learn A LOT from them. Read how I did it…

I started studying today, but only got a few pages in. I am too tired. I need to get a consistent sleep pattern, getting about 7 hours of sleep or so. I find myself nodding off in the mid-afternoon, not having enough energy to make it to the end. I’m going to continue slogging through, but I have a feeling these first few days/weeks are going to be tough!

After a little study I took and passed the CCENT about a month a go. Onward to ICND2, and then CCNA:Security.
I’m looking at life after the Army and I’m thinking I should get back to computers. I bought a book from Que Publishing I believe and I’m setting up a study plan. Well, what days I’m going to study on anyways. I’m nervous though, about setting a date and buying the exam or however you refer to it. I’m poor and definitely could not afford to waste money on a failure at this point.
I need to do my study in order to get my ccna, i have got some help full notes but i reckon i’m slack so i need to full my dreams by getting my ccna!! wish me luck..i hve faith that i will pass..Lord Give Understanding N Strength.
Yes the hardest thing about getting this certification is starting to study for it, I feel kind of inspired today!, starting all of these goals is easy, its finishing them that will be hard
Currently done with almost two thirds of the train signal course and starting Chapter 6 in the study guide (Lammle). Figured I would group the various videos with the chapters that they correspond to in the study guide.
20 more days to go… I’m also taking off 3 days from work to do more studying.
I’ve setup my testing date (Feb 20th), that should put some more fire under me.
Failed 801 exam.
Passed 802 exam using the below. (Not sure the 802 was easier, but there was no more ISDN and very little Frame Relay.)
Stayed after class at college many times to play around with routers and swtiches.
Watched CBTNuggets ICND1 and ICND2 with the author Jeremy Ciaora. I watched all of the videos, paying attention and not skipping them. You may think you know, but Jeremy will show you that you don’t. These videos are amazing! Anyone would agree.
Spent about 3 weeks of doing nothing but studying the videos and router/switch sims.
