I never got the chance to have my summer garage sale that I wanted to get rid of a bunch of stuff, but I did manage to get rid of some books, donate old clothes and throw a bunch of clutter out.

Garage sale  — 1 year ago

My mom had a garage sale a few weeks ago so I dropped off a couple of things for her to sell for me.

I sold a Microsoft wireless keyboard/mouse for $15 and and a Star Wars VHS box set for $8 – not bad for stuff I would probably throw out eventually.

BookMooch  — 1 year ago

I joined a website called BookMooch.

You list the books you’re done with, people “mooch” them from you, and you ship them out. For every book you ship out, you earn a point. These points are good for “mooching” a book off someone else.

Not quite selling my books, but getting new ones – so that’s good!

car boot and amazon  — 1 year ago

I’ve finally done a car boot sale!! Managed to sell a whole load of stuff (lots of it at 20p, but still better than a kick in the pants). Amazing what stuff people wanted to buy, whereas the stuff you think would go is still hanging around. The remnants went to recycling/charity shops, so that has cleared a whole load of space in the flat which is great as I could hardly move. Total profit 60 quid! Some books are listed on amazon and are slowly getting sold. I have a bunch of stuff I was thinking of putting on ebay and have to get rid of as I have to move, yet again, in the summer. never tried ebay before…

Recycle your books!  — 1 year ago

Anyone in the UK wanting to achieve this should definitely check out www.greenmetropolis.com for selling books. There’s no sale charge, fixed price for buying and selling all books…worth a look. I just listed a bunch!

Sold!  — 1 year ago

So since I plan on moving out of my house soon, I figured now is the time to start selling some junk I’m not using!

So far I’ve sold:

  • My old 20” TV/DVD combo for $60
  • An old GPS unit I never use for $180
  • An MP3 player I never use for $50

So far so good – all this money goes to paying off some debt I have so I have nothing to worry about when I’m in my own place.

I have a bunch more stuff I’m in the process of selling…

Another MP3 player, a Game Boy Advance, some games, and books! Lots of books!
