host an annual party

well, I went to Yahoo Answers and asked what a good theme for a party would be. All but one answer were the boring, cliche party ideas that are rehashed all the time: white elephant party, luau, Halloween party (I mean, come on!). Only one person suggested abything remotely creative, which was to host a “all the good themes are taken so this is a no-theme party”, including blank invitations. I thought it was a cute answer, but I yearn for a creative party idea. I suppose I shouldn’t be too surprised; if I am not able to come up with a creative idea, why should I expect some one else to be able to. Still, there must be someone out there who has held a party with a crazy theme!

It seems like so many of my friends have taken all the good ideas for theme parties. Maria and Tommy already have the holidays covered, Alicia has her international food party (such a good idea!), Kash had the storytelling party and her movie party. I gotta come up with my own!
I was browsing the net and here are a few I thought were cool, fit my M.O. and were something I could have fun with:
*“Bravo for Brunch”- (silly name, but whatever) Guests could come in pajamas and bring their favorite breakfast food. I would supply a variety of coffees and juices.
*Holiday Lights party where we meet at my place and then go into town to see the lights on Public Square
*Pumpkin Carving Party or Harvest Party
*Be a kid again party- watch cartoons, play twister, color, finger painting, play-do
Right now I am thinking breakfast/brunch idea is cool. I mean, I love breakfast, it’s creative, and pretty easy to do. I’ll keep looking though. People may not be too keen to party in the morning.
