I admit that I did need encouragement from mom to follow through on our planned trip last Saturday, but we got the job done. I found a couple of pairs of jeans and some unmentionables, but found that my favorite store has totally changed their supplier and so the styles aren’t quite the same, the fit/cut isn’t right, the quality isn’t as good, and the sizes are a mess. I should have been able to pick up at least 2-3 blouses, but oh well!

I’ve lost 31 lbs and it felt instead like I was 60 lbs heavier by the way the clothes fit. That was a huge disappointment. I had to come home and check the scale to be sure I hand’t lost my mind, lol!

In the end, I went to my mom’s favorte shop and I’m grateful that I found another one of the things I needed. Basic elements are crucial. I went to their online store and found more of the essential stuff for the same price, so I’ve got a good foundation of clothes for a while. I can always add a blouse or tunic in the next few months and I’ll be set.

You gotta love Mom! She saw something in the city when she was looking for clothes for herself and picked up a few things for me. She was hoping that one, I’d like them, and two, they’d fit.

We hit both on two out of three items and now I’ve got a cute top and, believe it or not, a pair of white, strappy, Sketcher tennies. Nice! Who’da thought she’d nail it on my shoe size, lol.

One step closer to the goal!

So I’ve got a plan, I’ve saved up some money, I’ve got a driver (can’t drive with all the meds I’m taking) and we’re shooting for a shopping trip to the city after the first of the month.

Now I need to stay out of the money I’ve saved so I will have something to work with when the Big Day comes. Woohoo!

Okay, I’ve lost weight. That’s one. The bigger issue: I haven’t bought any new clothes for myself in at least a year. It’s about time.

As odd as it is, I never let myself spend money on clothes unless it’s for a costume holiday. I’m a costume holiday junkie! I bought the best witch boots this year! But I’m not the witch boot type when I’m not costuming. I don’t let myself buy much make-up either unless it’s glittery and funny-looking. I don’t really go for expensive clothes, cool used clothing is what I like. Pretty easy on the income. There’s no reason why I shouldn’t have fun and treat myself to a few items every now and then. I could go score myself some this weekend (but nothing green! Too close too St. Patrick’s Day.)
