I write poetry all the time.
Not as much as I used too.
I miss it.
I miss language, and words, and creating.

John arboretum today maybe?
I used to write alot of poetry, and always wanted to write a book of poems.I will try to write more and even compile some old ones to hopefully put a book together in the near future, however bad it may be to other people hehe.
Today I sat outside and worked on poetry. I read over an old notebook I used to keep and wrote down some lines that sounded good. I also read Frank McCarthy’s “Lunch Poems” to get some ideas. I ended up coming up with a really good idea that combines a topic I really want to write about, with some lines that I’ve had written for a while. I would like to have 20 really tight poems eventually, to be made into a book.
I had to do it for english in high school. It was a great thing for me because expressing how I feel when I’m sad or angry isn’t easy for me. I usually just bottle it up and that can be harmful to loved ones. Doing this poetry thing made me feel lighter, not that I was an “awesome” poet or anything, I just felt better letting out all of my teenaged angst. I could never write a poem when I was happy though, it was very lame. All about rainbows and flowers, and icky chick flick material.
