LOVE jogging but still don’t have that love for running yet. It is now very hot out here so I doubt I will get in much running this summer unless it is indoors. Maybe I can try running very early in the morning or evenings (it’s possible!!). I will update on this goal again very soon. 12 months ago

Afterwards I tasted blood from my lungs from being out of shape. After a warm up you run as fast as you can for 20 seconds, walk for 8 seconds, repeat intervals 8 times. Supposed to be much quicker and effective training for aerobic and anaerobic capacity. I’m thinking it’ll help get me in cardio shape while running without beating up my feet so badly. I did it on a school track, nice and cushy. The goal is 3 or Tabata training sessions per week, 3 strength training sessions per week, with walks and hikes thrown in there for fun. I also know to truly lose the excess weight I have to stop eating so darn much and give up sweets and wine. www.tabatatraining.org 15 months ago

slowly but surely. This virus has been kicking my butt the last few days! Later this morning I’d like to go out for a short run and see how it goes. It’s supposed to be rather warm (65 degrees) so it’s perfect running weather! 16 months ago

I’ve decided that it’s just too cold out now to run outdoors. Even during daytime hours; it’s in the 40’s-50’s here. I’m trying to see if I can take up running or even jogging indoors (this way I can still keep running without worrying about my asthma in the freezing cold weather!). Need to make sure I have a path or enough space to make this possible if not ~ I can always jog in place! 17 months ago

When the weather is beautiful, when I’m not on pavement, when my feet don’t hurt. I did the 5 mile Turkey Trot in under an hour (slightly less than 12 minute miles, slow and steady baby!)and ran a little more than half the distance. It was sunny, cool, and crisp and when I caught my second wind, I loved running! Until my feet started to hurt. By mile four I was wincing with every step. I must see a podiatrist and perhaps get some orthotics and the correct running shoes. I love the feeling of movement, the infusion of fresh air and oxygen, and the stimulation of Dopamine. We were made to run. 17 months ago

I’ve had my inhaler for about a week. I’ve gone on a few short runs (as it is has been SO cold out) and haven’t had the chest pain problems so hopefully that’s taken care of now. I’m hoping it will warm up a little so I can try to run a bit more often but it’s unlikely since Winter is almost here. 18 months ago

on Thanksgiving morning at 9:30 for a 5K. I haven’t run a 5K in years but I signed up for the un-timed 5K so if I have to walk a good part of it I will and at least I will have completed it before sitting down to Thanksgiving dinner. 18 months ago

To my doctor who says my chest pain while running is from exercise induced asthma. All I will have to do is use an inhaler 15 minutes before running. I hope this will take care of the problem so I can continue to run as often as I’d like. 18 months ago

So I finally went for a jog/run this morning and started experiencing chest pain and tightness in the throat. Totally unexpected :( Someone told me it was because I was breathing through my mouth too much and not enough through the nose. I ran later in the evening paying extra good attention to my breathing and the same thing happened. I’m guessing it’s because I have a slight case of asthma or I’m more out of shape than I thought..hopefully nothing serious that is gonna prevent me from running in the future. 19 months ago

I haven’t even started on this goal yet and I wanted to start running or at least jog once a day. I feel like I’ve lost my ambition when it comes to this (which is why I added it as a goal). Since this is one of my newer goals; I’m going to take this slow ~ if I run at least once this week I’ll be doing good! :-) 19 months ago

Build up my stamina again by running more often. I used to run/jog everyday but grew bored of it after a while and started going for walks instead. I’d like to start running again at least 4 times a week. 19 months ago

some street but mostly trail – oh, how I love running on trails! I feel wild, like an Indian, and I have to pay attention to where my feet land which keeps it interesting and I love the quiet and the sights and smells of running in nature. I need new shoes, my second toenail on my right foot is blue from pressure! My poor, poor, misshapen feet. I felt stronger today, the cooler fall weather helps (mid 80’s instead of 100’s like it was just a month ago.) My goal is to run the equivalent of a 10k continuously. That shouldn’t beat up my feet too badly and I’ve done it in the past. 19 months ago
