I paid better attention to my speed all day yesterday.

Slowing down is hard sometimes. It’s all about being more attentive and present in the moment which is so easy to forget. I’ll work on this today.
well i just got my third ticket in 6 months. (only 2 speeding 83 in 65 and 57 in 35) i need to slow it down. i think it would help a lot if i had a car with cruise control. im thinking of getting an Xb or something, since theyre pretty slow but still kinda cool, cheap, and get good gas mileage. plus its newer, so it probably has cruise control.
does anyone else have this problem of not being able to find “the spot”. there’s that little spot you get to when you’re not speeding up and you’re not slowing down but you’re just maintaining. I cannot find/hold that spot. I get to a speed that I like, I try to find the spot. I look back at my speedomoter 5 secs later and I’m doing 80!
thankfully lately I have slowed down on the highway at least and I keep it within 5 mph of the limit usually. my problem now is driving in town, can’t get below 45 (even in a 25). but Im working on it.
I have increased my gas mileage! All I have done is knock off about 5 miles/hour or maintained the speed limit. And what is crazy is that I still get to where I am going in the same amount of time!
I just got a used Prius, so I’m completely taken with the screen that updates every second or two with what your average gas mileage is. It’s really amazing—if you drive slower (especially on the freeway), you use less gas. It also helps to speed up and slow down gradually.
But, man, going 25 around town feels really, REALLY slow. Even going 65 on the freeway seems slow; everyone else is blowing by me.
Still, I’m enjoying feeling like I’m not in a rush.
I really should have been working harder on this one.
I got a ticket for 55 in a 40 zone. No sweat, I thought, I’ll do traffic school. The only problem is that they changed the law in California last September. Now if you have a commercial class A license (like I do, for hauling my boat) you can’t keep violations off your record with traffic school.
I really gotta slow down
Worth doing!
But very glad now that it has happened.
Used to have a TERRIBLE lead foot. These days, I gets there when I gets there.
And I gets there in one piece. ;D
