get a macbook

Now I am a PC user, but when I saw the new apple macbooks (aluminum) I was really excited. Then I started to read about them on blogs, portals and home pages. And I was really impressed how many good words people are saying about the mac. I also find out that it is a great computer for video editors, photographers, I understood how really good it is.
Also I love the presentations of Steve Jobs – Great men. I just want to get the new macbook aluminum!

After days of brainstorming i decide 2 get an iMac, because most of my mobility times spent w/ my friends&eatings. Besides big screen is always fun 4 hours of editing

Looks like I’ll have to wait some more, again. Our plan to collect lots of money quickly with my mother isn’t quite going to work out after all – mum told me yesterday that she won’t be able to help me out before the New Year. She got some unexpected, urgent bills to pay.
So I’ll have to keep trying to keep this old laptop alive and kickin’ at least til January. :s
^{Well, at least there’s one positive side to this: I’ll get to spend some money again. Maybe buy some more food, eh.}

I’ll be getting my student loan for the rest of the semester in January and I could easily buy the MacBook from that money. There’s just a few problems with that plan.
1. I don’t like the idea of spending such a huge amount of the loan at once.
2. There might not be any of those old white 2.4 GHz MacBooks left after Christmas. :/

Sometimes I really wish I was rich. Or if not Rich, then at least that I’d have enough money so that I could get by without enormous battles.

So I had to wait another week because I couldn’t give the Apple people the credit application form without my mother there, since she had to prove her identity as my co-applicant. Yesterday we finally made it there together
and as was to be expected, my mother wasn’t an eligible applicant because of her loans etc. So that plan won’t work now. :x

However, my mum immediately after leaving the Apple Store decided that we will try to come up with the money together, quickly. The store apparently has five of those old 2.4 GHz MacBooks left.
I will be on a very tight budget from now on, I can’t really buy anything that isn’t completely crucial. So I won’t buy the new Smashing Pumpkins dvd that is coming out today, I won’t buy any treats, no going to the movies, nothing extra. Just the necessities of life.
(Good thing that I happened to buy my vacuum cleaner just before we made this decision, eh. I don’t have to live in dust anymore, hurray!)

I decided to make a visit to the Apple Store after my Latin class today and I spent quite a lot of time there, admiring the MacBooks. Finally a salesperson came to help me (it was a little busy there) and I asked if they had any type of arrangements for like monthly payments on the laptop. They did!

The ‘old school’ white 2.4 GHz MacBook costs 1150 euros and I can apply for a credit on it (I seriously don’t know what this stuff is called in English, so pardon me). So I’d pay little over 40 euros for it per month. I filled out the paperwork at the shop but when the guy called the bank, they said that students can apply for this credit, but they need to have at least 90 study points. I only have 60 at the moment. :/
So I’m going to need someone’s help, to back me up on that credit. My mum agreed to do it but her effort might not help because she has her own loans and debts and they might see her as an unfit back-uper. I’ll need to find someone else in that case.

I thought I was going to have to give up on this goal, but maybe, maybe I’ll actually get a MacBook in the end! :) Fingers crossed, everyone!

are finally up on apple.com and they are beautiful! So now I have a tough decision. Buy a new one for $1299 or an old one for $999. Oy. They’ll be in stores tomorrow apparently.
