New(er) Haircut! 2 years ago

Got my hair cut on Friday. I like it, but I don’t love it. It’s VERY similar to my sister’s hairstyle, but I like her hairstyle better. This week I want to head back to Alma (all I do is drive up there and back!) and take clothes to the consignment shop. Maybe I can go to G’s hairdresser and have her work on my head some time. As stupid as I would feel to have the exact same haircut as G, it would be cuter than this Mastercuts version, I think. I do like how short it is, and how easy it is to do. Yay!

I’ve been experimenting and trying all kinds of things. My hair looks better when I use mousse than gel, but I hate the way mousse gets all over my hands and neck and shoulders – blergh! My hair looks much better if I keep the volume to a minimum; turning my head upside down at any point is bad business, since it separates the curls and creates tiny frizzy pieces instead of big curly pieces.

I think the real answer may be a new cut. I saved a coupon for a $4.99 haircut at some Fantastic Sam’s type place, but maybe I should go to a real salon and have someone good do it.

I’ve had the new hairstyle for a week and it’s been a rollercoaster – I’ve loved it one day and hated it the next! I keep trying different things with mousse (how much, where to put) and scrunching … I have a feeling that at some point I’ll hit on the right thing during all this trial and error.

Almost! 2 years ago

On a whim, I got my hair cut at a Mastercuts in the Meridian Mall while Mom and I were travelling through. I like it much better shorter, and I finally caved and agreed to use product on it. I’ve been moussing and it’s much less frizzy and flat than it used to be, although I do notice the downsides of using products, too. I can’t complain when my hair is finally doing what I love – corkscrew curling and not losing it after a few hours. I want it shorter than it is. Maybe I can go to a salon in town and get what I want; I feel more confident describing it now.
