I need to add a cool Greek-like suffix like Aaron-isis or Aaron-othis.
Plus I guess I need to discover a new star, but that should be the easy part. The name is really the hard part.
How I did it: I'd heard about naming stars a few years back and I thought it was an amazing idea, I admitted that I would love to have one. That was when I was about 13.
Then, for my 16th birthday, my friends had a star named after me :)
I actually have never had such an amazing gift in my life and I dont think I ever will.
Now all I have to do is to find it on a telescope and say hello to my star!
My sister was amazed by the fact I had my own star, so I bought one for her for her 21st and she was so grateful.
I think it's a wonderful idea, that your star will stay there in the sky, for years and years and years.
Lessons & tips: If your thinking of doing it for someone, dont hold back. They will love you forever!
Resources: Star Listings was where I had mine bought for me.
They also update the names of stars in the british public library, so that your star is not named twice by accident :)

My best friend gave me a star as a one year friendship present. At the time, it was meant to be more…he wanted to literally give me the earth and the heavens…for wooing purposes. As of now, it is proof to me of unconditional love, the kind of love that is not passionate but is caring and warm and comforting.
It is a tiny star in a major constellation, and I have the certificate hanging on my bedroom wall. He named it ”.:Aud:.”, after my Livejournal moniker. “Audrey” would be too common, he said, and by using my signature associated with my journal, he touched upon one of the most important aspects of my life/personality.
It is still one of the best gifts I’ve ever received, so well thought out, brilliant, and unexpected.
Estelline I can't form a single lucid thought.
I think this would be the most awesome thing in the world. Every night I can see the planet venus from my window. I tell all my friends and they think I’m totally crazy. I don’t understand how none of them can see it! It’s so there and bright, it’s like they don’t bother to look up at the night sky. So I always feel like I have a special connection with the stars and planets. Also my chinese name literally translates into ‘Lake of Super Stars’. I want to do this so badly!
sharadasharada needs to get her shit together
After i saw A Walk To Remember, i wanted a star to be named after me. I think it’s the most romantic gift anyone can give to their boyfriend or girfriend (well mostly to their girlfriend) lol <3
Katrina feels like dancing.
i told tessa that i wanted this.
and she’s the only person who knows.
at the end of the year,
i might ask her to
get a star with me.
Thought it would be cool, got one named after my hubby for one of his bday presents. He liked it but I doubt well ever try to see it or anything like that, so I dont see the point in getting one named after me now :/

Getting a star named after you or someone is all a scam. The International Star Registry has no authority to name stars. The only real and legal way to name a star is to discover it yourself. It really sucks because that is such a creative and fun gift for someone. :(

So I checked out more details on what this would mean… apparently as awesome as it sounds you really can’t have a star OFFICIALLY named after you. According to Space.com the …”International Astronomical Union (IAU) has the right to officially name celestial objects. It does so for scientific purposes only and does not recognize any commercial naming systems.” So I can respect that and understand why scientists use the number system and would not want to be looking for a star named John Smith. But they apparently do still recognize most of the ancient names. Very glad I researched this goal because I would hate to waste my money buying the name of a star that I had no real right to do nor would it mean anything. Its just a semi-fradulant paper that is supposed to certify that the star is named after me. No thank you I will leave that up to the IAU. :)
