finish up Grad School Application.

just sort of putting it off. I have a Masters already, and I have a fabulous, secure, job that pays well. So I am putting it off, because I want to do something with life other than study, work study….

Columbia is calling wanting to encourage me to go to NYC for my PhD. This sounds great, except I don’t want to go to NYC, I don’t want that kind of lifestyle, and I’m just really sure what to say, I mean who says sorry, thanks but no thanks to full funding….? What on earth is wrong with me…

I called and dsiscovered my GRE scores are good until 2007. Soooo, I’ll be appling at a normal time, rather than trying to rush it for March 31st. As it was I wasn’t going to be a resident of the state again AND I was going to be ineligible for financial aid. So, this is much much better, though I am now nervous about giving up my Columbia acceptance, and what not. Grad school is important, but less so since I already have an excellent job with ongoing job security and such.

I must do this today, after all, I need some more room on my list for a thing or two, and I NEED to get this done, it’s sort of hanging over my head like an axe, so I might as well finish it out. :( Today, first though I am off to run, then….
Finish out the application, and all it is is modifying one that I have already done, I am just too content and lazy right now.

Now that I have the charger, what have I done? All I’ve done is charge the computer. I MUST open up the computer, and use it. But the 15th or so, I should have everything complete.

I can not find the charger for my apple where my personal statement is. I went through the whole car, which is a mess, and then through what I have brought in here, and am trying to recall what the heck I might have done with it…
I need to modify the personal statement by March 31st…what a hassle, I may eventually have to buy yet another new charger for the computer. Oh I am grumpy. I can’t figure out how the computer got seperated from the charger. I charged it last in Raleigh, about a month ago….Retracing the steps now, not very fun….

I do not want to ever write another application AGAIN. I had the acceptance at Columbia, but really think the move to NYC would throw me over the edge. So, better to stay at Carolina. Called and they actually have all my transcripts, and all my reco’s and all my stuff. Nice. Such a fabulous thing, so all I must do is get a few different reco’s, write a personal statement, and find some manuscripts to show I can write. How I wish I had not dumped most of the papers I wrote, and that the stuff I have published was not so fluffy…
Perhaps it really is time to write that article…

But yes, I guess I want a PhD, but I don’t want to go to NYC to get it. Carolina in the summer is just the best. Yay me.
