is my nickname for Ryan Adams. He’s the best lyricist to come out in a very long time. Yeah, he’s ornery and chemically challenged most of the time, but the boy’s got a way with words. I’d love to talk to him and see where all that comes from. I mean, who wouldn’t want to meet a guy who writes lines like “the trains run like snakes through the Pentecostal Pines”? He’s my favorite musician and I can’t begin to tell you what his music does for me. I’d hit a standstill in writing my book until I heard “Let it Ride.” That song gave that book new life.
