Well, i’m already writing a book. I’ve based it in a fantasy world, and based my characters on real people, made up a language for the natives and a culture and prochecies.
Its called: The prophecies of Arkudeira(Ark-oo-dee-ra).
What do I do once i’ve finished, how do I publish it? and how can I get the cover that I want?
I’m still in school and dont have alot of time on my hands.
How to become an author
How I did it: I got a publisher... and I published my book. Google Eccentric Beauty by: Jessica Layne Bird
That's mine.
I have a second book, and then a novel coming out.
You have to first have a product, the you find a publisher, and then you have to be accepted. Or you can self publish. Then you have to market.
It's easy to get published... but it's hard to do well. How well you do at it. Is a) How talented you are. and b) How much work you are going to put into it.
Lessons & tips: Get someone who hardly knows you, and is a bit of a jerk to read your stuff. People are going to give you flack. No matter how good it is. You are going to get flack, live with it.
Flack is good, it helps you grow... and shows you what, and what not to do.
There is also good flack. Some will get you noticed.

Ok, so thing is, I write well. My teacher even says so.
- But I am not really awesome or totally great at it. I practice, though, and I think I do make tiny improvements. I’m getting there. ^^
I want to become an author someday. Not as a main occupation, but maybe a side job, or just something I just wanna try. It would be a fun experience, and probably something I feel would be extremely rewarding.
I understand that there is the pressure of time, and there also some questions that make me think if I should really become an author. My plots seem shallow and I never seem to finish a novel… But still, it’s worth a try.
I haven’t got a genius idea for a book yet, but you never know…
VampirePrincess12345 is at school thinking of new stories
I’m really trying to become an author. Some of my friends say that when they are done reading one of my stories that they loved it and that I should get it published. I’m only 15 but I have big dreams and my ultimate goal is to become a new york times best seller. I am really working towards it. No one else in my family are writers so this would be a new thing for them all.
jkbx is planning on not doing much today!
I don’t want a desk job, and I really think I could make it as an author. I’m willing to put everything into it, too.
I’m writing a story called the Quest of time. It’s about a kid named Allen Meller that figures out he’s half monster and goes to a camp for training just in case some monsters come to attack them. Since Allen does so good at camp he’s been asked to go on a Quest to stop Slicer the evil monster from ruling the world.
and Im well on my way, have a setting and put some words to paper…. just need a decent plot or its not going to go anywhere…. but since im writing SOMEthing that makes me an author! now to become a better author!, or accomplished author!
Writing is my life. Seriously, and i am only 12. Everyone has said, since the day i spoke my first word, i have a definete flair for reading and writing. I am desperate to become an author when i’m older because writing is amazing, there’s so much you can do with it. The only thing is, 4 more years or so, and i’m out of school (that is unless this stupid government law kicks into place where kids have to stay on at school until they’re 18) and i haven’t a clue where i’m going to go to do what i want to do, or how i’m going to do it. I am wide open for suggestions and all will be gratefully accepted. Thanks for bothering to read this. I hope anyone who is reading this and hoping to become an author, one day succeeds with their ambition, because it is such a wonderful thing to do with your life. Thank you.
I want to become an author because i love writing stories and i think i am pretty good at it.
I’d love to write the great American novel, but I’ll settle with becoming a published author first. I wrote a book once in the 7th grade, and I sure wish I knew what I did with it because I would try to get it published.
I enjoy writing, but I need quiet time to get anywhere with what I’d like to accomplish. I have three children, so I can’t just escape to the country somewhere and write my novel in seclusion. Thus, I write lots and lots of journal entries and poems, just to get my thoughts out and to hone my writing skills. Perhaps this will trigger a firm idea for my masterpiece.
I also would like to write short stories – childrens books. I have ideas, but again, I need time and a quiet location to work through my thoughts.
Regardless whether or not I write the masterpiece, I just thoroughly enjoy writing. I created my own blogsite, http://www.thes-files.com as a place to publish my thoughts and to hopefully get feedback.
I’d love others to tell me how they got started with writing, and if they got published, how so.
