I like to buy used things. Goodwill, Salvation Army, garage sales, craigslist. Anything that I can do to prevent usable items from ending up in a landfill makes me sleep better at night. Everyone should do this.

Actually I do this all the time – I spend a significant number of Saturday mornings cruising op shops and garage sales. Mostly I buy books, also clothes, furniture and fabric (which I suppose is not ‘used’ so much as second-hand).
