There’s a slogan that I’ve heard, and it says ‘failing to plan in planning to fail.’ Well, I’ve been doing a whole lot of failing lately, so I’m going to try planning. I’m going to start planning out my meals at least a day in advance so that I don’t ahve any excuses.

SO I am starting this again. I mean again because I got busy with school (I’m a teacher) and I let eating better slide. So now that I’m not in a classroom for 10 hours a day I do have time to plan a better menu. I need to lose weight as well, but that is a separate (but related) goal.
Today I will plan a better menu.

I’ve technically been following my food plan for the last little bit, but it doesn’t feel good. I think it’s because I’ve left the door so wide open when it comes to what I can eat. Before I started on the plan, I ate better than that, but now since I’ve given myself such a wide slate, I’m regressing. So I’m going to adjust to:
My meals have to be relatively ‘healthy’ and contain at least 1 of the food groups. No ice cream for breakfast.
But I’ve been doing good on the drinking water thing. It’s not very difficult at all to get 4 glasses in a day. Usually I wind up drinking a bit more.
So slow and steady. Sllloooowwww….

I believe in doing these kinds of things in small steps. I’ve tried to do it the radical ‘throw out everything not 100% organic’ way, but I always crash after a few days of smug self-importance. So, for this week, I these are my goals in relation to food:
-Drink 4 glasses of water a day
-Only 1 non-water beverage a day
-3 meals a day, with one snack if I need it.
I begin tomorrow. Wish me luck!

by a good friend to have no refined carbs for a month.. no sugar, no sweet lattes..no turkey wraps with peanuts..BUT I don’t have to start yet. Actually, I’m waiting for the counterbet to begin from this same very good friend. A ‘if you do this, then I’ll do this’ kind of bet. So, I think I have a little while before this goal begins; in other words I’m not stressing out too much right now because I really don’t think my friend is in any hurry to begin his end of the deal. We shall see.. in the meantime I’m going to go order my nonfat vanilla latte and drink a jolt later today..

I’m really good at this. And I have been eating really pretty good. Plus, this friend of mine is dieting so she’s inspiring me to be better. I’m going to be done with this since I really don’t eat any refined sugar, almost no fried food.
