ride a gondola in Venice

As far as I know I am the only person who has puked through the entire Grand Canal and the city of Venice. I would like to do it again without the chunks….and bring my new friend Double N with me when she gets her passport…

We did it at night-time. It was expensive, but worth it. So relaxing, and beautiful :)

Most of the guide books say this is too pricy and not worth it, but maybe worth doing on a special occassion or on a honeymoon. The last time I went to Venice I was mulling over the cost quoted to me and thought that on an hourly basis it was no worse than a lot of other activities. Then it crossed my mind that, hey, I am on my honeymoon, and took the guide books up on the suggestion. Well worth it and we had a great gondolier – glad we did it, honeymoon or not!

It’s putting it on hold. I will not get to be anywhere near Venice for atleast a couple of years.

really peaceful and it makes you wonder how could anyone have built such a beautiful city, seeming naturally flooded, like a disaster or something.Makes you apreciate man kind’s achievements :)

definitely not as peaceful as it looks! we almost capsized on the grand canal and several times after, still worth doing though lol

oh and instead of singing to us like i’d hoped, the gondaliers were having a heated argument psml- i still reocmmend it tohugh if it’s something you’ve been dying to do, it’s certainly an experience =)

It’s so expensive and so touristy now that it’s lost a lot of the appeal. I’m still glad I did it, but, it was a little bit of a let down. Venice though, is an incredible city.

Venice is really beautiful and the only way to see it is from the gondola!
