I got time off from my doctor. I have decided that one of the things that I will do is finally paint my dining room.
How to paint my dining room
It made me
nicely surprised 
"You may think bright yellow is a good color for a room, but take my word, its really not."
How I did it: I went away for a couple of days to St. Louis and text P to please pick up some paint while I was gone so I could paint this week while I was off. When I got home, she had done it for me. We painted it bright yellow when we moved in and now, the reason escapes me.
More and more everyday, that yellow wore me down. It was loud and annoying and became hard to focus. I am an earth tone person, so I found a nice tone called "faint maple".
Lessons & tips: I didnt have any intention of her painting it so I felt bad that I should have gotten it before I left. I felt she took it as a cue to please paint it for me. She said she had been planning it since I said I was going away. It was a nice surprise because I loathe painting.
I wish I could have been here to check the color because I would have gone 2 shades darker. More like an espresso or darker tan, but it still looks quite lovely. She painted the accent bedroom wall a zen green and its so nice. This is not my room. My bed is higher and Im not a horse on the wall type person....
Resources: She hung her head in shame when I asked her if it was environmentally friendly paint. My nose crinkled too so Im sure it was ugly all around. But, Lowes for the paint, my girlfriend for taking the time to do a great job and feng shui for teaching me the principles of what colors to pick and what accent walls to paint to make my apartment happy, healthy and calming.
P also hand painted 3 pieces of canvas to hang in the bedroom. Its been a nice experience.

P is running a half marathon this sunday. Maybe I can paint this weekend. Maybe it will help keep my mind off of the fact that even though there are 10,000 people from all over the world coming here (its a qualifier for the Boston), the girl P had the affair with will be there. She runs A LOT slower than P, but point is, with my luck, with 10,000 people, she’ll be the one standing next to her at the start line.

My apartment is all earth tone, natural zen colors; light greens, tans, browns. The dining room is bright yellow. Yeah, I dont know what I was thinking. It drives me crazy though, throws off my chi. I told P now that the weather is getting nicer and we can open the windows, we need to re-paint. I guess we dont have to wait though because they have environmentally friendly, non smelly paint. That needs to be done soon. Check back in 2 weeks.

It took three coats to get the red down over the white walls (and yes I primed too). I still have a the trim work to do but I can see the light!

I patched cracks and sandpapered walls yesterday. Today will be wall washing and primer patched areas tomorrow morning. Then paint by tomorrow afternoon :) By Sunday some time I should be able to cross this off my list!

I didn’t have to do much in the dining room to spruce it up. Just paint, replace lighting and get new drapes. I think the food tastes better now that the room is done.

I wasn’t even planning on painting it this weekend when I woke up yesterday. But I had already bought the paint, so I went ahead and did the whole thing in a day. It looks great! I’m so glad to have this project done

I realized I did this like 3 weeks ago..! Yay me.. I don’t LOVE it, but I like it. Too bad I’m moving out at the end of my lease term. I can’t live here anymore..! I just can’t.

This has been done for quite some time, but I haven’t logged in since then. Having a dining room (which we are using as our living room) is pretty sweet!
