get a degree in Psychology

I have always wanted to learn to do something that can help other people, for that reason I would like to study psychology.

Actually I want to change my major. I’m almost positive I want to major in social work. I want to help people. I really think I want to work with kids, like a social worker for CPS. I’m still interested in psychology but I think I’m better off going with social work. I’m thinking about maybe minoring in psychology. That would probably help some in the long run. Idk..I’m only starting my second semester so who knows..I may change my mind and change to brain surgery!

But not really!! Social work is what’s right for me.

I’ve wanted to get a degree in physcology since the age of about 12 (I’m 15 now) so I hope to take up physcology in A-level first. Yes I know it is some time away but hey, think ahead and you will get ahead!

I love learning and studying and for over 20 years have wanted to study psychology. I started taking some correspondence courses and absolutely love it. I would like to continue taking psych courses that interest me so that within the next 2.5-3 years I could have a psych degree. I want to take the courses at a reasonable pace so that I can enjoy them and yet keep moving towards my goal.

I’m in the process of finishing my finals for the first semester. Wow..it went by pretty fast. College was so much harder than I had expected. Well, I guess actually, it really wasn’t that hard it was just the work that I should have been doing. The second semester will be much better. I’m going to do all my work and turn it in on time. I’ve already registered for my classes and I know how I’m going to balance work and school. I have class from 8 until 515 Tuesdays and Thursdays. So I’m going to tell them I can work Tuesdays and Thursdays from 530 to close and then any on the weekends. This way I’ll have Mondays and Wednesdays off to work on the work that is due the next day. And I’ll also have me time:)
Anyway, I’m excited because I know that the first semester went by pretty fast and I’m hoping the second, third and fourth will do the same. Then I can transfer to a bigger university. I’m happy with my grade in psychology. I averaged a B for the whole semester..not bad I don’t think. I have a D in biology, and probably a C in art. I’m really worried about English though. That was really hard because of all the work we had. Like I said next semester will be much better. Next semester I’m taking social psychology..hope it will be as interesting as general psychology. Anyway..I think I’m going to bed now.

Right now I’m in my first semester at a community college..
I’m just starting off, getting all my prerequisites and all that good stuff before I transfer to an actual university. School is kinda hard at times but I guess I like it. Psychology is really interesting and I can’t wait to start the other psychology classes cuz I’m only on general psych. for now.. But after two years at this community college I will have my associates degree which doesn’t really count.. then I will transfer to Memphis, hopefully, and go for 2 more years to get my bachelors degree. And who knows..maybe I’ll go ahead and stay 2 more years to get my Masters.. I don’t know..we’ll have to wait and see.

But I was only one class (4 credits) away from a major.

it was expensive, but hopefully it will help me get a job I’m in the running for now!

haha i’m doin psychology A level so i’m on my way to getting this done. i just have to go to university after this and get a degree. just another 3-4 years of work and i’l have this done!!!! yipee!
