This is a more practical alternative to traditional mathematics and it applies directly to my interests: Quantitative Finance.

Forgot everything I ever learnt (In fact the only thing I remember from school about math was that if I did an “x” like “multiplication x” instead of curvy, I would get caned 6x.
I bought math books from basic arithmetic up to advanced 3rd year calculus and spent 3 months learning from 1st principles. I am now quite competent and love the subject.
Started a degree a year ago at Birbeck as well, but work pressures and divorces forced me out :(
One day I am pushing myself to retire young so I can go back and do a PhD :) I’m motivated haahah
