How to volunteer at a hospital
How I did it: I just called the hospital closest to me around May 2008, got in touch with the volunteer coordinator, and started a few weeks later. I enjoyed the patients, the nurses, and the other volunteers, but I
don't see myself working in the medical field. Now on to finding what
I want to do!

its going to be at Tuomey, here in Sumter. From looking at the website, it looks pretty simple. Just a couple forms to fill out, pick a thing to do, and voila! I’m a volunteer.
Ever since I was little i wanted to be a nurse. I’m a senior this year and graduating soon and im going to Cal U to get my degree in RN. I took a lot of anatomy and physiology classes and i figured i need a little more experience in a hospital to volunteering would be the best option.
I really wanna work in a hospital so that i can gain experience of how things role in there.
xtalbrown is stressing out!
I’m swamped with a crazy school/work schedule but I would love to get some hospital experience in before nursing school.
I’m going to start volunteering at Texas Scottish Rite, an orthpedic children’s hospital, on Thursday! I’m super excited!
hydroelectricity is oddly optimistic
i’m doing this for a few reasons…
-i want to be a doctor. at least i think that is what i want. i am currently going to school to become a surg tech. i feel these two steps will help me realize what becoming a doctor really means – working in hospitals, being around patients & their families, etc. i just think it will be a good experience before diving into 10+ years of school :)
-i need to work at night if i decide to go to med school. my job is currently a day job. when i get my st degree it will allow me to work nights.
anyway…it’s basically to get my foot in the door.
i’ve already contacted a hospital in my area…we’ll see how that goes.
