I still love the stuff, but use it sparingly now – except on cottage cheese. MMmmmm.
How I did it: At first I used to have a standard spice mix that I used to season a lot of my food, salt being one of those ingredients. Then I just started skipping the salt bit of the mix and it really didn't make that much of a difference, taste wise. It's been a lot easier than I thought it would be. :)I've never been a big user of plain sea salt to season my food, I tend to stick to a herbal salt or just other spices. I LOVE it!!! So I quit cold turkey. Six days no salt.
I’ve started paying attention to what has salt in it and what doesn’t.
I’m surprized how much salt is in bread and cereals.
Muslei is a good choice for a salt free cereal.
Also there is a different between salt and sodium when you read the packets. If it says 1g of sodium, thats about 2.5g of salt.
There is some good info here:

In the house. And when dining out, it is a rare that I’d ever reach for the salt shaker.
Perhaps the one exception is when served a bowl of my mother-in-law’s soup. It sometimes needs a little salt. (But in future I’ll be trying to go without).
