New Isabella is not going shopping today...
Our book group met today to have members make suggestions for books to read next year and then to take a vote. I really wasn’t making a suggestion, but I brought along the copy of a book I was reading, Speak What We Feel (Not What We Ought To Say) by Frederick Beuchner. I told them about how I was on this internet site where you make goals, and how I had a new goal to read more classics, and how I had recently read Huckleberry Finn, and how I was rereading the Beuchner book because it has a chapter about Mark Twain and Huckleberry Finn. I didn’t think that anyone would be that interested. To my great surprise, they voted for my book.
They also voted to read Barbara Brown Taylor’s new book An Altar in the World. I wasn’t surprised at that. I voted for it too.
