I am a former resident of New Orleans, my heart strings are pulling me back to The Big Easy; to lend my hands and skills to the Rebuild Effort.
In my family lineage, I am a third generation minister (although no longer active in traditional ministry). Consequently, one cause in particular catches my attention:
St. Augustine Church.
Built in 1841, St. Augustine is the oldest African American Catholic church in New Orleans. It is consider the ‘church home of jazz’ in the city. The Archdiocese has decided to downsize the church to non-parish status, and thus the long time priest of the congregation may be reassigned.
St. Augustine has a rich archive and culture legacy, which needs to be preserve and taken forward. It is to this work that I am looking to lend my ten years experience as an Internet Strategist.
I would appreciate any offers of assistance, to support my goal (i.e., frequent flyer miles- so as to travel to NOLA, volunteer coders-especially Ruby On Rails or Liquid, volunteers for fundraising anywhere and everywhere).
